Why learn Spanish?
Your ability to speak Spanish in the United States has become an increasingly important skill and is quickly becoming an asset no matter what profession you are in.
2020 census data shows, "The Hispanic or Latino population grew 23%, while the population that was not of Hispanic or Latino origin grew 4.3% since 2010."
“With more than 37 million speakers, Spanish is by far the most spoken non-English language in the U.S. today among people ages 5 and older. It is also one of the fastest-growing, with the number of speakers up 233% since 1980, when there were 11 million Spanish speakers.” The Pew Research Center
As the number of Spanish speakers continues to grow it is imperative to be able to communicate in Spanish.
Spanish skills enhance ones ability to more easily communicate in the workplace and in the community. For some professions it is a matter of safety and security that the officer, emergency personnel, service technicians are able to, at minimum, communicate basic information in Spanish. No matter how or why an individual learns Spanish it is a life skill that will open doors to better communication and further job opportunities.
